Candidplatz: Housing project takes shape

PORR Building Construction Region Süd is acting as general contractor for the construction of a modern residential quarter comprising five residential buildings on Munich's Mittlerer Ring. With a gross floor area of 27,600 m², the development will include 187 rental apartments, commercial space, a crèche, 95 parking spaces and generous storage space for bicycles.
Located in a logistically challenging spot on the city's main traffic ring road, work is progressing rapidly.
The new building will be constructed on Candidplatz, replacing a residential building from the 1950s. Playgrounds and open spaces will be integrated into the residential complex, which includes a soundproofed glass atrium in each building. The inner courtyards offer green retreats within the quarter.
Logistically challenging due to its location on the city's main traffic ring, work is progressing rapidly:
- Buildings 4 and 5: Completed & occupied
- Buildings 2 and 3: Under construction, completion by end of 2025
- Building 1: Shell construction by mid-August, interior construction on the lower floors already started in parallel
Overall completion of the project is planned for summer 2026.
