New contract for dismantling RWE power plant in Voerde

/ Environmental engineering / News / Press Release

In order to drive forward the energy transition, the dismantling of old power plants is an essential building block in the conversion to a climate-friendly energy system. This also applies to the old RWE power plant in Voerde. The former hard coal-fired power plant has been shut down since 2017 and has been waiting to be dismantled since then. On behalf of RWE Generation SE, PORR Becker Abbruchtechnik is taking on this demanding full-service assignment.

The project involves the professional dismantling of the former coal-fired power plant at Frankfurter Straße 430 in Voerde. Boiler houses, the cooling tower and the chimneys, some of which are over 200 metres high, are being dismantled on a total area of 36 ha. All earthworks and waste disposal services are also included in the scope of work.

We are looking forward to this exciting task!
