The WILHELMSBURG care centre is currently being built in Hamburg Wilhelmsburg by HSI Hamburger Senioren Immobilien GmbH. The project comprises the new construction of the "Substitut" and "Linde" buildings and replaces five existing buildings. After the shell of the new "Haus Substitut" building was completed last year, the "Haus Linde" building has now followed.
The "Haus Linde" extends over a total of four upper floors and has a gross floor area (GFA) of approx. 9,400 m². Once completed, the building will offer 158 care places and is specially designed to meet the needs of people suffering from dementia. The entire project is being realised by PORR from a single source, from planning and excavation to turnkey construction. The all-round carefree package is a key customer requirement and guarantees a smooth construction process.
Ongoing work and next steps
The topping-out ceremony marked the completion of the building shell. Over the next four to six weeks, the windows will be installed and the roof completed. Work will also begin on the facing façade. Work is also continuing on the neighbouring "Haus Substitut". Here, the interior work has already begun and the façade work is nearing completion. The scaffolding will be removed at the end of May to reveal the finished building.
