Successful works meeting and construction site tour at PORR Government Services

In October, PORR Government Services GmbH (PORR-GS) held a works meeting at the Haus Aulenbach conference restaurant in Baumholder. A total of 32 colleagues took part, some of which online. After the welcome and the works council report, the focus was on current topics and developments. Particular emphasis was placed on the efficient collaboration between the PORR-GS Group’s business units and international offices.
A highlight of the event was the tour of the Army Lodge, which is currently PORR Government Services' largest construction project. Employees were already given a first look of the project at last year's works meeting. Once bare concrete walls, now the shell of the building's exterior has been completed, the exterior façade finished and the roof sealed.
Specific challenges in Baumholder
Senior site manager Hubert Ackermann and site manager Sven Steinacker reported: "The customer wanted to send a strong signal for climate protection and opted for a high-quality white EPDM roof waterproofing membrane to reduce the urban heat island effect. As this is not available in Germany, PORR GS organized the purchase through a US intermediary – proof of our solution-oriented approach and reliability."
