In the construction industry, waste management includes, amongst other things, the separation, processing, recycling and disposal of mineral and non-mineral material streams. The choice of processes is made taking into account the specific project requirements as well as the legal and site-specific framework conditions.
PORR environmental engineering offers services for both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The range of services includes the mineral processing, treatment, recovery, disposal and landfill of materials.

The range of services includes the investigation and assessment of sites with regard to potential soil and subsoil contamination, the analysis of the results in accordance with applicable standards and legal requirements, as well as the preparation of cost estimates for containment and remediation measures based on the available investigations.
In addition, services are offered in the fields of environmental chemistry, exploratory drilling, well construction, as well as the planning and installation of geothermal systems for heating and cooling applications.
Environmental clean-up.Securing, treating and rehabilitation of contaminated sites.
The containment and rehabilitation of contaminated sites form part of PORR environmental engineering’s range of services. Contaminated sites require the investigation and assessment of potential impacts on soil, groundwater and other environmental resources. This is based on risk assessments, analysis of alternative options, rehabilitation strategies and the planning of appropriate measures.
Depending on the site and project requirements, a combination of different containment and remediation methods may be employed.

As part of dismantling and demolition work, pollutants, man-made mineral fibres and building materials containing asbestos can also be removed. This work is subject to the requirements of the relevant regulations, including TRGS 519 and TRGS 521. The work is carried out by suitably qualified personnel.

As part of urban mining projects, buildings and industrial sites are assessed for existing materials and their potential for recycling. This involves identifying materials, estimating quantities and considering various options for recycling and recovery.
