Alanbrooke Quarter: Flagship project nearing completion

Construction is progressing rapidly in the Alanbrooke Quarter in Paderborn. As general contractor, PORR building construction West is building three turnkey point blocks above a shared underground car park on behalf of BPD Immobilienentwicklung GmbH. The 36 high-quality owner-occupied flats on construction site 16 are nearing completion and handover.

The 36 high-quality condominiums on construction site 16 are in the final phase of construction and are about to be handed over to their new owners.

Experts commissioned by the client are currently preparing for the final inspection with preliminary inspections. At the same time, individual inspections of the various trades are already underway, including TÃœV inspections of the lift systems, blower door tests as well as technical inspections of the ventilation and electrical systems. The aim is to ensure a defect-free handover, which is to be achieved through closely coordinated remaining work by all trades.

The increasingly dynamic weather conditions – a sign of our changing environment – require a high degree of flexibility and precision. The specialist companies are meeting these requirements with great commitment: they carry out regular follow-up inspections, carefully check the implementation of all measures and thus ensure that the work meets the highest quality standards.

Efficient collaboration through lean construction

The building construction team is supported by other PORR service areas: PORR Gussasphalt GmbH is constructing the underground car park ramp using mastic asphalt, while CMG Gesellschaft für Baulogistik GmbH is supplying the construction site with electrical infrastructure, formwork material and containers.

A key success factor for the partnership-based collaboration is the use of proven lean construction methods. These promote close coordination between the project and construction management, the client BPD as well as the future apartment owners – and contribute significantly to the high level of adherence to schedules and satisfaction of all parties involved.

A flagship urban development project

The Alanbrooke Quarter is being built on the approximately 18-hectare site of a former barracks in Paderborn. With its central location, eleven listed buildings in the North German brick Gothic style and a spacious neighbourhood square as its new centre, it is considered a flagship urban development project. The high-quality, modernly equipped condominiums offer two to four rooms and living spaces ranging from approximately 59 to 142 square metres, providing room for a wide variety of lifestyles – whether for singles, couples or families.

The first residents will soon be moving in and filling the apartment buildings with life. This will create a vibrant living environment that impresses with its well-thought-out architecture, green outdoor areas and strong neighbourhood. The site will also feature a variety of housing types and space for offices, service providers, a daycare centre as well as a creative quarter for art and culture.
