Final handover of keys in the âAm Papierbachâ quarter
/ Building construction / News / Press Release
An important milestone has been reached in the new Landsberg urban quarter, which is currently growing up in eleven construction phases on the site of a former plough factory. The Munich branch of PORR has handed over the âAm Papierbogenâ and âSpöttinger Höfeâ construction phases with a total of 146 flats ready for occupancy.

The symbolic handover of the keys took place on 18 July 2024 in the presence of Doris Baumgartl, Mayor of Landsberg am Lech, Erdal Bektas, Managing Director of e+k Development, as well as Michael SchĂŒtz, Commercial Regional Manager South of PORR Building Construction.

A new pedestrian and cycle footbridge over the Lech river connects the car- and barrier-free residential and commercial quarter âAm Papierbachâ directly with Landsberg's medieval old town. Under the leadership of project developer ehret+klein, a total of 658 flats as well as space for offices, a daycare centre, restaurants and retail will be built on 5.7 hectares of development land in an excellent inner-city location by 2027. The project is a perfect example of how urban living in multi-storey residential buildings and established small town structures can complement each other perfectly.
Subsidised flats for people on middle incomes
Affordable housing and housing shortages are not only a key issue in Landsberg am Lech. In the quarter on Papierbach, a high proportion of subsidised flats is being used to remedy this situation: 30 percent of the flats are intended for people on medium and low incomes. In construction site A3 âAm Papierbogenâ, 51 of the 92 flats are earmarked for this purpose, and in construction site A2 âSpöttinger Höfeâ, 16 out of 54.
The importance of the project for the Landsberg housing market was also recognised in a separate ceremony. In the presence of Doris Baumgartl, Mayor of Landsberg am Lech, Erdal Bektas, Managing Director of e+k Development, as well as Michael SchĂŒtz, Commercial Regional Manager of PORR Hochbau Regional Manager South, the symbolic handover of the keys for 56 rental flats, 51 of which are subsidised, on construction site A3 âAm Papierbogenâ to Ralph BĂŒchele, Managing Director of the state housing association BayernHeim, took place on 18 July 2024.
âWe are very proud to have been involved in this flagship project. It is exemplary in terms of both social and ecological sustainability,â explained SchĂŒtz after the event. Like all buildings on Papierbach, the two construction phases built by PORR are heated with a central groundwater heat pump, fulfil the KFW 55 standard and contribute to a healthy microclimate with extensive green roofs.
