Topping-out ceremony for PFLEGEN & WOHNEN WILHELMSBURG care facility in Hamburg

Completion of the shell On 23 August 2023, PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HAMBURG GmbH, HSI - Hamburger Senioren Immobilien GmbH and PORR jointly celebrated the topping-out ceremony for PFLEGEN & WOHNEN WILHELMSBURG. As part of the Future Care initiative, several existing buildings of the Hamburg care facility will be replaced by the new buildings "Haus LINDE" and "PFLEGEN & WOHNEN WILHELMSBURG". On behalf of HSI - Hamburger Senioren Immobilien GmbH, PORR Hochbau Region Nord is realising the construction project safely and economically as a general contractor with all services from a single source: the affiliate company pde Integrale Planung is responsible for the general planning and subsidiary company Stump-Franki Spezialtiefbau is realising the construction pits and the necessary pile foundations.

In less than a year after the foundation stone was laid, the shell for PFLEGEN & WOHNEN WILHELMSBURG was completed. More than 150 deep-grounded piles support the structure, whose base plate was reinforced due to the island location. The shell of the 4-storey building took just under 5 months to complete, and the last slab was concreted on 18.08.23. In September 2023, the installation of the windows and clinker facade will begin. The interior construction, which will start in parallel, is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2024. The shell for the neighbouring LINDE building is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2024.

In his speech at the topping-out ceremony, Thomas Flotow, spokesman for the management of PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HAMBURG GmbH, emphasised PORR's reliability: "We asked Mr Becker early on when he expected the shell to be completed. He said 20 August 23 for sure, so we put down 23.08.23 for the topping-out ceremony and you see, today is 23.08, the shell is finished and we are having a topping-out ceremony."
