/ Industrial construction / News / Press Release

Oevermann Hochbau commissioned as general contractor A new filling plant for technical gases is being built for the Westfalen Group in the Lanken industrial park on the B207, some 40 kilometers east of Hamburg. The contract awarded to the structural engineering team includes turnkey construction and complete site development. The trusting cooperation between the client and PORR Oevermann has already been tried and tested: Last year, the traffic route construction and structural engineering teams worked hand in hand to realize the road and new construction for Westfalen AG's relocation within Münster. Now the structural engineering team is working for our long-standing client in Elmenhorst.

Construction work started

Activities for the new building start on the 19,000 m² site: The construction site is set up, test fields for the foundation measures are created and the sewer construction work begins. As part of the initial construction work, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new filling plant for technical gases took place on September 20, 2022. The Westfalen Group is thus focusing on optimizing customer supply in the north. The proximity to the A24 east-west tangent speaks for the convenient location of this site.

The contract covers the turnkey construction of the filling plant including a two-story administration building and further building sections for order picking and storage. The scope of the contract also includes the complete construction of the outdoor facilities, including sewer construction work. The large-scale outdoor facilities will largely be constructed of asphalt. Some areas will be designed in paving, concrete or gravel. A fencing system consisting of 665 m of double bar fencing as well as two automatic gates will enclose the site. The filling plant is scheduled to be commissioned in the fall of 2023.
