Completion on schedule thanks to lean management

Work on construction site C6 is drawing to a close: Since the beginning of June, the structural work for the 94 residential units has been completed. Currently, the last facing work is being carried out. The consideration of partially receding clinker shells poses a challenge. This demanding façade work required above all intensive work preparation and scheduling, which the team mastered in a solution-oriented and efficient manner. The initial delay caused by the late explosive ordnance clearance has now been completely made up for by increasing staff and using lean management methods. "We have already completed 80 percent of the facing work and are right on schedule," explains site manager Dirk Schroeter. The handover to the client will take place on schedule at the beginning of September.

Everything from a single source

It is not only the work on construction site C6 that is being carried out by PORR Oevermann. In the third construction phase on site C 10 of the York Quarter, the building construction team constructed four turnkey buildings with 116 flats including an underground garage for 40 cars as well as the complete outdoor facilities. pde Integrale Planung, an affiliate of PORR, is responsible for the general planning. Oevermann transport route engineering is also involved with development measures on the site. Thanks to the good and transparent communication in all project phases, a profitable and trusting cooperation with the client was established.
