CYSS Youth Centre– Child, Youth and School Service

Vicenza, Italy / 10.2010 - 04.2013

BBGS built a youth centre in Vicenza, Italy for EUR 7.9 million. The Child, Youth and School Service Center, or CYSS, is a Design & Build extension to the US Marine Command. The multipurpose centre has everything: a hall, activity areas and youth recreation rooms, a room for preparing meals, exercise machines, toilets, offices, a homework room and the building technology areas. Outside, the children and young people can work off their energy in the playgrounds and sports areas.

Another element we are particularly proud of is the LEED certification. The project requirements specified Silver, but thanks to excellent planning and execution by our foresighted employees, we were able to exceed expectations and hand over the centre in 2013 with Gold certification.

Property developers can collect points towards the LEED certification during the construction phase - for example, for cleanliness on the construction site, or environmentally friendly construction processes and materials. The available infrastructure also plays an important part: places to shop, public access, water and energy management. The certificate is issued in Bronze, Silver or Gold.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
