Expansion of Weinbergweg in Frankfurt/Oder

Frankfurt/Oder, Germany / 04.2017 - 05.2018

For the city of Frankfurt/Oder, PORR realised the extension of the Weinbergweg as an inner-city diversion route in the event of excessive particulate pollution in the city centre. The extension comprised the 600 m long first construction section of the inner-city connecting road.

In the course of the construction work, the existing 12 m wide concrete carriageway including the two adjacent pavements was to be demolished. As a new construction, a 9 m wide carriageway was built with a fully-bound superstructure (38 cm) on a 15 cm thick consolidation with a maximum compressive strength of 7.0 N/mm2.

Relief for the Frankfurt (Oder) city center

In the existing side areas, longitudinal parking spaces and a 1.50 m wide footpath were constructed on both sides.

In accordance with the circumstances of an inner-city construction project, the main focus of the task was to minimise the construction time. The selected fully-bound superstructure could be used sensibly and on schedule, taking into account the special features of the consolidation.
