Weinbergweg

Weinbergweg in Frankfurt (Oder) was upgraded as part of the town’s transport infrastructure. The project comprised the first construction phase – approximately 600 metres in length – of an inner-town link road. On behalf of the City of Frankfurt (Oder), PORR carried out the roadworks, including the adaptation of ancillary facilities.

Upgrading of the Weinbergweg in Frankfurt (Oder)
Reconstruction of the traffic areas
As part of the construction project, the existing concrete carriageway – approximately 12 m wide – including the adjacent pavements, was demolished. A new carriageway with a width of 9 m was subsequently constructed. The carriageway was built as a fully bound surface with a thickness of 38 cm, laid on a 15 cm thick sub-base.
Reorganisation of the road space
In addition to the carriageway, the verges were also redesigned. Parallel parking spaces were created along the route, as well as 1.50 m wide pavements on both sides. The works thus comprised both the renewal of the traffic areas as well as the adaptation of the adjacent areas of the road space.
Construction in an inner-city setting
The project was carried out within an existing urban environment. Construction processes, traffic management and the individual work stages had to be adapted to local conditions and the demands of inner-city traffic.
Road construction in an existing urban setting
The works on Weinbergweg combine dismantling, earthworks and road construction within an existing inner-city structure. In addition to the construction of the new carriageway, the project focused in particular on adapting the road cross-section as well as reorganising the pavements and parking spaces along this section of the road.
