In July 2016, Infineon commissioned PORR Industriebau GmbH as construction managers for the construction of an additional semiconductor factory at the Regensburg site.In addition to the planning and construction of the entire technical building equipment and wiring, the contract also included production of the RFE cleanrooms for microchip production. The clean rooms occupy two floors of the building.
