Montessori-Schule Farnweg, Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf, Germany / 09.2017 - 10.2018
Rising pupil numbers, demands for inclusive teaching in primary schools and school buildings in need of renovation require a school construction offensive.
Already in 2017, 143 school construction measures were running in parallel in the Düsseldorf city area.
PORR Hochbau West GmbH was allowed to be part of the school construction offensive and was awarded the contract for the turnkey construction with associated implementation planning for the two-storey new building at the Montessori primary school on Farnweg. The extension was built while the school was still in operation.
The extension building is divided into two two-storey structures with gable roofs positioned at an angle to each other. Between them is a flat-roofed two-storey building that houses a refectory including a cook & chill kitchen. The classrooms and differentiation rooms are located in the eastern part of the two-storey new building, while the group and multi-purpose rooms of the open all-day school (OGS) are located in the western part.
