PORR industrial construction GmbH acted as the turnkey contractor for Osram Semiconductors GmbH to construct Production Building 34 at the Regensburg site. PORR was commissioned to carry out the design work back in 2016, and was subsequently commissioned to implement the entire project in early 2017. The scope of work comprised the design and construction of the building, including cleanroom technology, building services and electrical installations.

Osram Building 34, Regensburg – Semiconductor production
Production building for semiconductor manufacturing
The building was constructed for semiconductor production and comprises cleanroom areas as well as the necessary technical infrastructure. The cleanrooms extend over two floors and were completed to the ‘Ready for Equipment’ (RFE) stage.
Cleanroom technology and building services
In addition to the construction work, PORR industrial construction GmbH was responsible for the design and installation of the cleanrooms as well as the building services. This included the technical installations and supply systems required for semiconductor production.
Planning and execution from a single source
PORR took on both the detailed planning and the implementation of the project. The services encompassed architecture, building services, electrical works and cleanroom technology within an integrated project approach.
Expansion of the Regensburg production site
Building 34 marked an expansion of Osram’s production site in Regensburg. The project supplements the existing manufacturing infrastructure with additional cleanroom space as well as technical facilities for semiconductor production.
Foundation for microchip production
The production building comprises cleanrooms spread over two storeys, technical infrastructure as well as the building functions required for semiconductor production. The scope of work ranged from planning to the handover of the production areas ready for operation.
