The mechanical engineering team at PORR Spezialtiefbau has extensive experience in consulting, design and documentation for drilling rigs (Atlas) and pile drivers (Frankipfahl) as well as for machines and equipment for construction site logistics such as access ramps, traverses and load handling equipment.

All employees are engineers or technicians specialising in mechanical engineering. Two colleagues have additional training as welding engineers, enabling the special civil engineering team to carry out welding work on structural steel in the area of construction supervision, e.g. for reinforcement cages and sheet pile walls for customers such as Deutsche Bahn, flexibly and without delay.

Our services are focussed on supporting partners within the PORR Group. In addition to our own construction teams, our internal customers to date include PORR Equipment Services (PES), PORR Tunnelling as well as PORR Steel and System Construction.

Our consulting focus is on machinery and equipment for construction sites and on-site logistics. We can provide you with individual advice on the subject of the EU Machinery Directive / CE certification and will carry out risk analyses.

We offer comprehensive engineering services relating to the design of machinery and equipment for construction sites and site logistics:

  • Preparation and validation of specification sheets and technical specifications.
  • 3D-CAD design for realistic modelling
  • 2D CAD drawing derivations for the production phase
  • Preparation of parts lists and work schedules
  • Planning of production processes
  • Preparing and taking over production planning and production management
  • Functional tests and implementation

CE conformity is a prerequisite for placing machines and systems on the market in the EU. This means that the machine or system must comply with the safety requirements listed in the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

To prove the conformity of the machine with the requirements of the directive, we will support you in carrying out the conformity assessment procedure. Within the framework of the so-called conformity assessment to obtain the CE label, we will accompany you through:

  • the initial technical documentation of machinery and equipment
  • the technical follow-up documentation of machinery and equipment
  • the creation of operating, assembly, and maintenance manuals
  • Risk analyses with a focus on the Machinery Directive
