In Potsdam, the Humboldtringgärten, a new residential development, is taking shape between Babelsberg Park and the historic city centre. PORR Building Construction Region Ost is carrying out the project as the main contractor on behalf of QUARTERBACK Immobilien. The special civil engineering works are being carried out by PORR Spezialtiefbau.

Living in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Living between Babelsberg Park and the city centre
The new development is being built on Humboldtring, in the immediate vicinity of Babelsberg Park. The plans include five residential blocks with a total of 214 flats, as well as an underground car park with 59 parking spaces.
The residential complex offers a total usable floor area of 11,350 square metres. Flat sizes range from one- to four-room flats with living areas between around 20 and 110 m². All flats have a balcony or terrace.
Planning and construction
The residential complex is being built to the KfW Efficiency House 55 standard. In addition, the project developer is aiming for DGNB certification for the quarter.
The foundation works comprise around 300 bored piles and are being carried out by PORR special civil engineering. In addition to the engineering and installation planning, the special civil engineering division is responsible for carrying out the deep foundations for the residential complex.
New residential development on Humboldtring
The Humboldtringgärten project is creating the structural foundations for a new residential development on the site at Park Babelsberg. The residential buildings, open spaces and associated infrastructure will in future form a new part of the urban area between Babelsberg and Potsdam city centre.
