L159, Schöneseiffen/Hellenthal

Schöneseiffen/Hellenthal, Germany / 10.2022 - 05.2023

On behalf of Straßen NRW, the Düren branch rehabilitated the L159 rural road between Schöneseiffen and Hellenthal. The challenging project in the heart of the Eifel stretched over a distance of about 4.5 km and included both the full expansion and the elevated paving of the road. Always good for a surprise: the weather in the Eifel.

The client, Straßen NRW, was very keen on a quick implementation of the construction work, as the geographical location in the Eifel region only allows diversions over long distances. In this project, the transport route engineering team once again succeeded in combining quality and speed and quickly completed the rehabilitation of the L159 over a total distance of 4.5 km.

Timetable always in view

The construction sections two and three on a length of 2.9 km were completed within only three weeks. This required precise coordination of work running in parallel, with one section being milled and the other asphalted at the same time. Despite some challenges, the professionals managed to complete all preparations in time for the waiting asphalt crew to start smoothly.
