PORR was the main contractor for the construction of the La TĂȘte office building on the last plot in the recently developed the Quartier Central district of the city; the building has an approximate area of 37,000 qm. It is located directly next to the Franklin Bridge and forms the northern end or tip (la tĂȘte is French for head or end) of the development on Toulouser Allee. It has two basement floors and eight above-ground floors. The design of the lively rhythmic elevations was based on a bar code.
The property incorporates a generous foyer with café-bar, the latest communication and conference rooms, a planted inner courtyard with adjacent canteen and childcare facilities. In addition, there is a 600 qm sky garden on the roof of the 30 m-high building.

The new media center âLe Quartier Centralâ
The principal tenant of the La TĂȘte building is the Handelsblatt publishing group. In addition to other office areas, space is being provided for the business journalists of the Georg von Holtzbrinck School.
One really eye-catching feature on the facade is an 80 qm information screen that broadcasts current business news from the Handelsblatt and Wirtschaftwoche journals.
What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
