Lindlar-Haus

Bergisch-Gladbach, Germany / 01.2014 - 02.2015

Lindlar-Haus is a commercial building located in the pedestrian area in the centre of Bergisch Gladbach and has a gross floor area of about 4,700 m2. The client was the Cologne District Savings Bank which also has a branch in the new build project.

Additional attractive commercial space has been created in the form of a multi-store concept. In addition, there are rental units available on the second and third floors for offices and medical practices.
In keeping with the corners of the surrounding buildings, the building volume is designed so that no disruptive corners project into the public space, and that it can be perceived as a whole from all sides.

Elegant and representative building of glass and stone

The use of only two materials: glass and natural stone – plus the bronze-coloured aluminium window-frames – lends Lindlar-Haus a timeless and elegant appearance. In order to combine an efficient use of space with a light external appearance, the third floor on the pedestrian area side is set back, allowing space for a narrow roof terrace.

The sprinkler plant is accommodated in the sub-basement. On the roof there is a plant installation space that is enclosed by a metal louvred screen designed to match the cladding of the facade.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
