Mülheim an der Ruhr
PVS-Hauptverwaltung
Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany / 09.2023 - 08.2024
PORR Hochbau Region West has completed a challenging project in Mülheim an der Ruhr: replacing the existing Privatärztliche Verrechnungsstelle (PVS) building from the 1980s with a modern, sustainable new structure. After demolition, a contemporary company headquarters with a gross floor area of 7,973 m² and a usable area of 2,902 m² was built on the same site, designed by Essen-based architect Gabor Kovacs. All processes were synchronized with LEAN, as the schedule was tight.

PORR builds shell for new PVS headquarters
The light-flooded building comprises a basement, a ground floor, and two upper floors and is optimally tailored to the needs of the employees. Highlights include an employee restaurant, a spacious roof terrace, and green areas for relaxing breaks.
Efficient construction and sustainability
The Münster branch took on the shell construction contract and relied on LEAN-timed processes to meet the tight schedule. The combination of in-situ concrete work and prefabricated elements – including filigree walls, columns, and staircases – significantly reduced the construction time. Due to the high groundwater level, the exterior walls of the basement were constructed using waterproof in-situ concrete.
The strict environmental requirements of the “city on the river” were also met: after testing, the groundwater was discharged via settling basins and the water compatibility of all hydraulic fluids and lubricants used was verified.
The completion of the project has resulted in a forward-looking administrative building that combines sustainability, functionality, and employee comfort. PORR Hochbau Region West has thus once again confirmed its expertise in complex projects and its role as a reliable partner for high-quality construction projects.
