Student housing complex Boeselagerstraße in Münster
Münster, Germany / 11.2012 - 08.2014
The student dormitory in Münster, also known as "Boeselburg", built in the 1960s, had to make way for a new building of 447 residential units due to its outdated flat layouts and poor energy performance. Oevermann Hochbau GmbH was commissioned to carry out the structural work on Boeselagerstraße.
The new building, which was funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia under the "Experimental Housing" programme, consists of eight identical residential modules that are assembled into four building blocks via two braces. The building blocks with 3 storeys plus a staggered storey offer identical housing types that are only differentiated by turning and mirroring.
The special feature: the building will be constructed according to the passive house standard. This means that high requirements apply with regard to an airtight building envelope and the avoidance of thermal bridges.

Another special challenge was the very short construction time for the first two blocks of flats, as the university was expecting a large number of students in time for the start of the semester in September 2013.
As usual, our experienced Oevermann team accompanied this project with commitment and motivation.
