On the former Expo site in Hanover, PORR constructed a five-storey office and administration building for Delta Bau AG. The turnkey new build, designed by the architectural firm BKSP, comprises around 9,500 m² of usable floor space as well as an underground car park with around 109 parking spaces. The anchor tenant is Cochlear Germany, which has relocated its headquarters to the Expopark.

Turnkey construction of the new office and administration building

Flexible spaces for different office layouts

The building grid allows for a variety of office layouts. In addition to single and double offices, open-plan areas can also be incorporated within the building’s structure. More than 900 floor-to-ceiling windows characterise the building’s exterior. Access is via two main entrances.

Facade made of precast reinforced concrete elements

A defining feature of the new building is the curtain wall in the area of the main entrances. From the ground floor upwards, the perforated facade of the external walls was constructed using precast reinforced concrete elements. Elements set in front of the facade, oriented in various directions, together with the special colour ‘Champagne Metallic’, define the building’s external appearance.

Office location on the former Expo site

The new building is situated on Mailänder Straße, in the immediate vicinity of Expo station. Expopark is now used by a variety of companies and is also located near the Kronsrode neighbourhood development.

Office spaces with a variety of usage options

The Torhaus Expopark has created office spaces that can be flexibly configured thanks to the building’s grid layout. This allows for the provision of single and double offices as well as open-plan office areas within a single building. The prefabricated façade and the more than 900 floor-to-ceiling windows also define the external design of the new administrative headquarters.

What ultimately counts in the construction business is successfully completed projects. PORR has many of these.
