Health and safety is a top priority at PORR. “Safety First” is not just a guiding principle for us, but the foundation of everything we do. The physical and mental well-being of our employees is the most important prerequisite for sustainable business success.
With our Vision Zero, we are pursuing the clear goal of reducing the accident rate to below ten accidents per million working hours. To achieve this, we rely on regular inspections, targeted training as well as an established system for reporting near-misses and hazardous situations.
All employees commit to adhering to our high quality and safety standards from their very first day at work. Quarterly changing focus areas ensure that occupational safety remains a constant priority. A key tool in this regard is the Safety Walk: during site visits, management actively checks safety standards on site.
In addition, the Last-Minute Risk Analysis Card raises awareness company-wide of safety, personal responsibility and the early identification of risks in the workplace.

Right from the early project phase, planning, execution and logistics are considered holistically and closely interlinked. BIM-based models in Lean Design create clear, stable processes and make it possible to identify and minimise design changes at an early stage, before they affect the schedule.
During the construction phase, Lean Construction ensures a controlled and efficient construction process through transparent phasing plans, reliable management and continuous comparison of planned versus actual progress. In addition, Lean Logistics ensures smooth project progress through supply chains that meet deadlines and material requirements, just-in-time concepts and forward-looking site logistics.

Certified as sustainable
When constructing data centres, PORR takes into account requirements relating to energy efficiency, resource conservation and certification standards right from the planning and construction phases. It builds facilities that are certified to BREEAM, LEED and WELL. These certification schemes assess aspects such as energy efficiency, resource management and user comfort, amongst others, according to defined criteria. As a main contractor, we take into account, for example, energy-efficient concepts, water management measures and materials strategies in line with the specific project requirements.
