Prefabricated pilesFull-displacement piles for a range of foundation and ground conditions
Prefabricated piles are used as deep foundation elements for a variety of building and infrastructure projects. As the soil is completely displaced, no conventional soil excavation is required during construction. Depending on the project requirements, various pile systems and design options are available.

- Ductile cast iron driven pile (HLV pile)
Precast driven piles are driven dynamically; depending on the pile type, this is done using either internal pipe driving or head driving.

Applications of precast piles
We use precast pile foundations as a deep foundation system for all types of structures. These include, amongst others:
- Industrial buildings
- Logistics centres
- Residential and commercial buildings
- Office buildings and hotels
Precast pile foundations also allow for construction where height is restricted.
Benefits / Features
Fertigram piles are used as full-displacement piles for a variety of foundation applications. As the soil is completely displaced, no conventional drilling cuttings are produced during construction. Pile lengths can be determined on a project-by-project basis, taking into account the ground conditions and the resistances measured during installation.
- Load transfer: Suitable for a range of load and foundation requirements
- Pile geometry: Adapted to site-specific ground conditions
- Materials used: Slender pile cross-sections with concrete requirements determined on a project-by-project basis
- Ground management: Full-displacement method without conventional drill cuttings
- Scope of application: Can also be used in areas with contaminated soil
- Construction: Installation capacity depends on subsoil conditions and project requirements
- Resistance-settlement behaviour: Project-specific design in accordance with requirements
- Pile inclination: Vertical and inclined piles possible up to an inclination of 4:1
- Energy piles: Versions suitable for geothermal applications are available
- Greenpile®: Precast rammed piles form part of the Greenpile® system
Fundamentals
Quality assurance
To ensure quality during construction, the requirements of European and national standards, as well as the recommendations of the ‘Piles’ Working Group (EA-Pfähle), must be observed. Self-monitoring and documentation of the construction work are governed by the manufacturing standards.
The installation of precast piles requires a set of procedural instructions individually coordinated with the requirements of the project in question. Consequently, in addition to specialist knowledge and experience, the machine operator’s intuition also plays a key role. Operating the large specialist equipment is a delicate process in which the optimal adjustment of the production parameters is crucial to achieving the desired pile resistance.
We ensure a high standard of workmanship through:
- Individually coordinated procedural instructions
- Compliance with the requirements of DIN EN 12 699, Eurocode 7 and EA piles
- Clear processes via our quality management system in accordance with DIN EN 9001:2015
- Static or dynamic pile load tests
- Pile integrity tests
Variants
PORR has its own specialist equipment and skilled personnel for a range of special civil engineering services. Projects are managed taking into account the specific conditions of the site and the ground conditions.
A variety of technical methods and construction options enable us to meet a range of project requirements. The choice of method is determined by the geological, technical and project-specific conditions.
