From 11 to 13 September 2026, Horb am Neckar celebrated a special town and bridge festival under the motto “Horb connects – One town. One bridge. A Festival.” The focus was not only on a varied cultural and family programme but also on the new Horb viaduct, which was open to visitors as part of an ‘open construction site’ initiative. PORR played an active role in the festivities and offered fascinating insights into the development of this major project.

Under the slogan ‘Horb connects – One town. One bridge. One festival.’, Horb celebrated a special town and bridge festival.

At its information stand, PORR brought bridge construction to life for young and old alike. The specially set-up PORR cinema attracted particular interest; a film shown there documented the construction work to date and the key milestones in the building of the high-level bridge. Visitors were thus able to follow the development of the approximately 667-metre-long structure and take a look behind the scenes of one of Baden-Württemberg’s largest infrastructure projects. The high bridge is being built on behalf of the Karlsruhe Regional Council and will in future carry the B32 across the Neckar Valley.

Even the youngest guests were well catered for: at a colouring station, children could design their own bridge motifs and discover the world of civil engineering in a playful way. A specially designed selfie spot provided the backdrop for souvenir photos and quickly became a popular meeting place on the festival grounds.

The overwhelming response to the activities on offer demonstrated the public’s keen interest in the construction project. Numerous visitors took the opportunity to find out first-hand about the current progress of the works. Together with other companies involved in the project, PORR highlighted the diverse challenges and achievements behind the construction of the new viaduct.
