The dual-track students are beaming with pride.
Five dual-study students, five successful degree completions and a wealth of practical experience: Jonas, Jim, Leonie, Soman and Yannic have successfully completed their dual-study programmes at PORR’s Hamburg site. At the same time, their success is a testament to the strong focus on nurturing young talent and the high quality of training in the region.
After all, there is more to these qualifications than just theory and exams: “It is the result of practical training, dedicated teams and an environment that specifically nurtures and challenges young talent. Whether in the technical office, the commercial department or directly on site in construction management – the dual students were able to continuously apply and develop their knowledge in practice.
The Hamburg site thus impressively demonstrates what modern training can look like: close to the projects, closely integrated with the teams and offering genuine career prospects. This not only produces successful graduates, but also the skilled workers of tomorrow for the region.
Today, the five look back with pride on an intensive and instructive period – and at the same time look forward to a promising future at PORR.
We asked them: What did you enjoy most during this time, and what are you looking forward to in the future?
Jonas: “The insight into the diverse range of subject areas was particularly exciting; you’re constantly learning new things, much like at university. I’m looking forward to tackling future challenges more independently. Broadening my horizons and gaining new experiences is what motivates me most.”
Jim: “The balance between theory and practice. The practical placements provided an exciting contrast to everyday university life. Day-to-day life on a construction site is varied and brings new, often unexpected challenges every day, which allow you to grow and develop. During the dual study programme, you could follow projects for around three months at a time by alternating between the company and university. I’m all the more looking forward to being able to oversee projects over the long term without interruption and follow them through to completion in future.”
Leonie: “Working as part of a team, both in the office and on site. I really appreciated the openness and helpfulness of my colleagues. Overall, the excellent teamwork made the experience very enriching for me.”
Soman: “The team and the feeling of being part of something big. I’m looking forward to new, exciting projects where I can be involved right from the start. I’m also delighted to now have a permanent role within the company. As a student, you pass through many different departments, so it’s all the more rewarding to now settle permanently in one area.”
Yannic: “I particularly enjoyed the close collaboration with my colleagues, as well as working together to develop and refine solutions. What I’m most looking forward to is the varied future in this profession, which offers me the opportunity to continuously develop and always learn something new.”
We congratulate you on successfully completing your training.
