KITA Osterholz: Interior construction on track despite winter weather

/ Building construction / News / Press Release

Bremen's "slippery weather" is in full splendour in winter 2023/2024. But grey skies, snow and rain showers, sub-zero temperatures, gusts of wind and slippery conditions have no effect on interior construction at the PORR construction site "KITA Osterholz". The roof and façade are watertight and a climate-friendly construction site heating system ensures temperatures suitable for interior work at all times.

"Thanks to our optimal construction site organisation and dedicated team, we are able to make up for any minor delays immediately," explains PORR site manager Gianluca Boenigk. "As long as there is no series of storms that paralyse traffic and logistics, we will achieve a precision landing on completion," he continues. After just over a year, PORR Building Construction Region North will have the new 3-storey building with a gross floor area of around 2,051 m2 ready for use by June 2024 at the latest. "The client is extremely satisfied with our punctuality, which is very important because childcare places are in demand," adds site manager Matthias Burwinkel, "the parents and children of Osterholz are looking forward to the new childcare centre opening soon."

Climate-friendly construction heating with mobile heat pump regulates temperature and humidity

A mobile construction site heating system ensures that the cold-sensitive building materials can be processed even on cold and damp days and also dry out and harden quickly. A mobile heat pump is used at the KITA Osterholz, which provides reliable heating even at temperatures well below freezing. "The fact that the air heat pump is fossil-free and energy-efficient is in line with both PORR's sustainability strategy and the client's ambition to build Bremen's first NH-certified KITA," says Burwinkel.
