Digitalisation has become indispensable for the construction industry. Building Information Modelling (BIM) forms the basis for efficient construction processes and maximum cost-effectiveness. Digital documentation and traceability are also essential when planning buildings according to the closed-loop principle. It is also becoming increasingly clear that digitalisation and sustainability go hand in hand. Modern technologies help to save resources and reduce emissions, which is good for the environment.

On behalf of Deutschland Test and Focus Money, ServiceValue GmbH together with the IMWF - Institute for Management and Economic Research - analysed the digital competence of around 15,000 German companies. Both a social listening analysis and a standardised online questionnaire were used for this. Several hundred million online sources were analysed with the help of artificial intelligence. In addition, companies were able to provide information on processes, data management, communication, working methods and structural features. The best in the industry served as a benchmark for the final ranking.
