Quartier Q47 entwickelt sich planmäßig in Wiemelhausen
Bochum, / Building construction
In the Wiemelhausen district, the Q47 development at Querenburger Straße 47 is shaping up to be a forward-looking residential project for Bochum. On behalf of VIVAWEST, the PORR Münster branch is constructing a total of 21 apartment buildings with 213 units on the approximately 33,000-square-meter site, some of which are publicly subsidized. Ten underground parking garages with 212 parking spaces complement the new neighborhood and provide parking for future residents in southern Bochum. The construction project thus makes an important contribution to the further development of Bochum as a residential location. Despite five construction phases running in parallel, the project is proceeding according to schedule thanks to close coordination among all trades.
Building in stages: Q47 quarter is progressing on schedule
The individual construction sites are currently at different stages of construction. On Construction Site 1, preparations are already underway for the mid-year inspections. Alongside the completion of the exterior landscaping, painting, tiling, and flooring work is being carried out there, as well as the installation of interior doors. On the second construction site, the focus is currently on tiling work in bathrooms and stairwells, as well as electrical installations.
On construction site 3, the installations for heating, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems have been completed; drywall and screed work will now follow. On construction site 4, installations, drywall, and thermal insulation are progressing rapidly. On the fifth construction site, the structural work is nearing completion. At the same time, roofing and insulation work, as well as heating, ventilation, and plumbing installations and drywall work, have already begun there.
Project Manager Lisa Beckmann explains: “Precise scheduling and reliable planning are crucial, especially for a construction project of this scale in an established Bochum neighborhood. This allows us to deploy materials, personnel, and equipment with pinpoint accuracy. The trades work seamlessly together—and the construction process remains stable even when multiple sections are active simultaneously.”
