Living in solidarity for 100 years
Münster, / Career
The Münster site is a prime example of what it means to stand together. And this has been the case for several generations now. With its 100th anniversary, the PORR-Oevermann joint venture has reached a true milestone that hardly any other company in Germany has achieved.
100 Years of Solidarity in Münster
It all began exactly 100 years ago, when the idea arose of getting involved together in our free time as well. In 1926, the Oevermann Staff Association was officially founded. Alongside activities such as football and bowling, the programme also included the game of ‘Speckbrett’. Even back then, a particular highlight was the annual shooting festival, at which the shooting king and queen were crowned. This tradition continues to this day in Münster and will be successfully transferred to PORR as part of the 2024 brand integration. Today, it lives on in the PORR-Oevermann staff association and demonstrates that the future needs its roots.
The 100th-anniversary shooting festival took place in May. The day not only produced two new title-holders, but also many special moments and memories. A real highlight was provided by Uwe Landau, Chair of the Works Council, who performed as a singer and set the mood with two songs written especially for the occasion. His message was spot on: “We are the team that makes everything possible. ”
Landau is proud of this special milestone: “Team spirit was important to us then, and it still is today. Today we have over 100 active members; the retirees enjoy joining us, and that won’t change in the future either.” Wera Heeren, chair of the works shooting club, adds: “A celebration like this brings people together and fosters a sense of unity.”
