Mastic asphalt is an asphalt-based construction material used in road construction, traffic area construction and structural engineering. It consists of sand, grit, filler and bitumen. Owing to its composition, mastic asphalt is laid without the need for additional compaction and has a closed-grained structure.

Depending on the area of application, mastic asphalt is used for traffic areas, civil engineering structures, as well as for waterproofing and specialised applications. The selection is made taking into account technical, standard-based and project-specific requirements.
