"In principle, we believe that constructive cooperation is the best way forward in this transition phase. The work our employees do for PORR is valuable and a key factor in our success. With this step we are following the recommendation of the leading employers' organisations, ZDB and HDB, and sending a clear signal of appreciation," explained Jan Schwägerl, Commercial Director of PORR in Germany.

From 1 May 2024, PORR will voluntarily increase collectively agreed wages and salaries by five percent in the West and six percent in the East. The lowest wage group 1 will be raised to 14 euros nationwide. Remuneration for trainees/dual students will rise to 1,000 euros per month in the first year of training, with different increases planned for the second, third and fourth years of training, which are significantly higher than the failed arbitration award.

"It is important to us that our PORRians do not suffer any personal disadvantages as a result of the fact that the collective bargaining negotiations have not yet been positively concluded. We are hoping for a swift agreement between the bargaining parties," added Claude Jeutter, Technical Managing Director of PORR in Germany.
